    Chillers

resun chiller is ok, much better then cannister filter because their chiller is basically made with the japanese technology~~ Of course it is not top grade but still good value for money~ By the way if anyone wants to get a cheap cannister Atman and Jebo(new version) should be better.

    Chillers

The ones in Hollywood are call Resun. China brand but it does OEM for the japanese so it's quality are ok. The pricing in hollywood    Was going to help you guys out with some cheap chiller but the timing itn't right...because summer can't wait another 1-2months for them to be shipped here
  5. Thanks everybody. So it seems like arkles bay would be the place to go for me. A bit too far for me to go to takapaua in the holidays. May try takapaua when uni start because my campus is located a takapaua.
  6. thanks The boat ramp at arkles bay is it the place where you see a few people fishing? Is the water clean? Cause i see a few boats go pass and by around there offen.
  7. Hi i currently want to try to use NSW. Is there any good place to collect it around whangaparaoa? I live right next to stanmore bay beach. Is it ok to collect it from there? Is there anything i need to know before using it? Is it ok to use NSW with saltmix too. Because i mean not be able to go get NSW every week specailly in summer. thanks
  8. Thanks~ the xenia only been in my tank for 3hours when i took that photo~
  9. what chiller is it? $60 only!??
  10. If i have the time i would come too
  11. Hey i already gone through 2 chapter of that book. By the way whats wrong with the worm?? I see many reef has it.
  12. My chromis has half it tail bitten off once (grown back now) i think is one of the other chromis that did it. They also eat very quick they may cause other fish to not eat enough. Other then that i have no problem with it at all. Very good starter fish.
  13. For the people that want to know info about my tank plz read from the top again...my tank is running for about 1year. What is cyno and marco algae? (Sorry about this dumb question but iam from Hong Kong and i only know the terms well in chinese....) Non of my fish eats calurpa...thats why they are growing like crazy. As to livebearer_breeder question about small tank.....it is totally possible just need to check out nano-reef, and most of the starter tank in hk is only 50-100L. (my one is only 90L) But once again bigger the better this is because for me i would only need to spend a extra 200-300$ to get a tank that double in size (maybe because all the equipment i brought can be use in a much bigger tank) and this could allow me to have more chooses. Like now i can't even keep a bigger fish. Anyway my suggestion is at least a 150L but anything as small as a 50L is possible. Oh...not the seahorse for sure (if you don't want to buy a chiller)
  14. Pic after a good clean... I know the droppings are from the blenny because i saw him did it!! The pic wasn't taken too well....the amount of droppings is 3times as much as the pic. The brown algae comes back every 3days after i clean the sand bed, hate it so much...
  15. yea it is a lot more but the one in the picture is the biggest worm. There is lots of brown algae growing on the sand bed and in a very fast rate....i clean it every week already. And just lots and lots of dropping made from my bicolour_blenny which i have stop feeding alreadly...
  16. by the way does anyone have any good ways to clear out this "droppings" made from my bicolour_blenny (don't tell me to try clean it every 2days) and this worm... for any guys that want to know my equipment: T5 1 blue 1 white, eheim 2227wet/dry, prizm skimmer, via powerhead(got this because i want it to help clear the droppings but don't seem to help) oh the tank is a 90L from Aquaone Ar620 (throw out the standard lights and filter) anyway...a good clean of my tank needs to be done tonight
  17. Your N-cycle is not completed yet.....it takes around 40days. (Yea i know it is so hard to wait for that long before adding stuff in) Corals needs a better water quality then fish. A strong fish maybe able to live through a N-cycle but not much of a chance a corals will. Taking it back to the shops or getting someone to look after it will be the best way. By the way what light are you using?
  18. once again i havn't keep sea horses before but as from what people said before that seahorses need to be keep "under 20 degrees ".....if you tank is really big and it is in a cool place with a few computer fans blowing on the surface you many have a chance to get through the summer. If not....then it is no way to keep you tank under 20 degree in the summer with just adding cool water. Just a coupe of days ago my tank gone over 29degrees. So in long term a chiller maybe the only answer. But just the remind you that not only a chiller cost abit but the power bill will be increased.
  19. I havn't keep sea horse before due to the reason the sea horse sold in New Zealand doesn't looks as good as overseas. Just want to see have you taken care of the cooling problem? What chiller are you using?
  20. http://www.coolworksinc.com/iceprobe_aq ... hiller.htm Anyone used it before? How much does it cost?
  21. same here...i got a some plece from Ivan too...i only had it under FL tubes (2x20W). I also had it at the top of my tank. I think is due to my lighting that the colours didnt' show up too well. (Is like a light green colour..). Also this thing have a mouth too right? It seems to releast some light brownish stuff.(i only see it once). Also does it need to be feed? if so what? Thanks
  22. Hi guys, i am new in here but is really interested to there. Nothing to swap, (cause i just started my tank and don't have much stock in it ) but planning to buy something...
  23. hi..i have a Aquaone ar620 90L (use to be for Tropical but after 2 months i decided that i want marine) I use the standard lighting which comes with then tank, a eheim 2227 wet/dry filter, rea sea prizm skimmer and 8kg of rock. Only has 3 small fish in it now, will add more fish and corals in later. (does anyone have some for me  ) The costing for that is around 2000$ now (And i imported some of the equipment myself) My tank is running fine now and it is not hard to keep at all. But i would still strongly suggest that you go for a much larger tank (200-300L) because you are not really paying that much more and you can have more freedom in your fish selection. (Not like me, i can only keep small fish) Want to post a picture for you to see but don't know how to..
