what is euro bracing.Never heard of it before.Where can you buy it?

what about perspex in 10mm.would that be rigid enough.It would be solid in all the right directions when used as bracing.Easier to deal with too.

Hi guys, I have a 1200x600x600 tank in 10mm.When i bought it second hand the bracing was cracked.I'm only talking about the bracing around the top circumfrence.It was originally 6mm stuff.Would 6mm glass be sufficient to brace such a tall tank.I was thinking 10mm strips along the length of about 80mmwide.Also a 150mm wide brace in the centre,running back to front glass in 10mm. Any advice on where to get some cut for next to nothing....student ! Thanks

Yeah,definately dont breed the deformed ones.I got 8 off amazonia as well.They growing really fast.One is a runt and one is deformed.I only paid for 5 so i'm not too worried about 2 runts. I'll try putting some pics up sometime.

Yeah,from recollection my old mans tank had two laminated sheets of about 25mm.Anyone know what price a sheet of this size would cost?

So of all those people that bought altum angels off Phill at nz discus a few months back.What do they look like now.Any chance of some pics. Did they turn out to be peruvian altums ?Or do we actually have proper Altums now in large numbers in nz.

Can anyone give me some advice on glass types suitable for aquariums.My father built a huge 3 meter x1000x1000 concrete tank for his marines ages ago.It was lined with fibreglass etc with one big sheet of glass somehow stuck to the front. I'm thinking about a similar tank for my new house.What type of glass would suit that situation.How much would i look at paying for a sheet 3000x1000 aprox. What would be the best way of sealing the concrete or bricks it will be built from inside? This would be for a fresh water tank with discus etc. Who would be a good person to approach for glass prices? Thanks

Does anyone use those boyu pumps on their tanks.How noisy are they.I'm wanting to use a 30l /min job on my 430 l tank.Would this be over kill.Do they come in smaller sizes? Any advise?

I have a few questions about this system. 1.What type of tubing do you use.Is it special tubing or just some regular clear tubing that can be picked up from mitre 10 etc. 2.Can you explain the solenoid part of the system.Dont know anything about solenoids.Where can i buy them and how much are they? cheers

I was wondering.I have seen these co2 tanks on trade me with a wee tap on the top.If you just connected the outlet to a thin pipe and a diffuser,and used the tap to control gas output.Would the tap control the gas output adequetly.I just want a basic simple co2 system.Thought this might be an easy way .What do you think?

I have an algea that has haunted me for the last year.I have tap water that i do my water changes with that has a ph of 7.5. I dont know if this is a factor.I had this problem with 6 fluoro's in my tank lid and the same problem with 3. what size were those pandas when they bred.I have about 8 differing types of cory's and was wondering at what size they will begin breeding. Mine are between 3-4.5cm all up length.

I was wanting to lower the tanks ph mainly for breeding the blue rams.The fact that there are discus in there was just another minor factor.They can live in the lower ph ranges so i knew it was mainly for blue ram egg developement.

my kh reads 3. or 30 mg/l carbonate hardness.It's the hagen test kit.

Hi guys, I'm looking for a way to lower my ph in my discus tank.The ph coming out of my taps are 7.6 I have seen that product called ph down.It looks pretty expensive if i have to constantly buy it. What i want to know is this.What are you guys using to lower ph.Dont mention peat please.I'm over it.Looking for a chemical answer.Maybe an acid etc i can buy in bulk. Obviously this would be administered VERY carefully. Any suggestions.

Let them sort it out mate.Unless you actually see some physical harm done to her,leave her in. I had one male and 3 females in a tank.He would chase them constantly in a territorial way.Then suddenly get all smoochy and decide to turn on the charms for one lucky lady! Dont worry about it.Just feed them some white worms,brine shrimp etc. hopefully she will plump up with eggs and you will have a spawn. cheers

Does anyone know how to sex discus.Mine havent bred,so i dont know what sex mine are.I have on every dominant(largest) discus.There seem to be two fish that have distinct areas they've claimed.Are these necessarily males?Are the females usually smaller.Are there any physical indications other than during breeding that tells you there sex? Any help?
