  2. It's 140 Litres soon to be 200 Litres. Jamie finally found some glass for it.. gonna pretty much double the thickness off it.. just gotta get the pieces cut. its calving time so i'm flat out.. its all about finding the time to get it cut for us. Oh and bubs is now born so COMPLETELY shattered! how about your new tank?
  3. and Godly3vil not talking about the marble we bought offa you. had a couple of spawns off them but nothing hatching so far. they've been put in a bigger tank now so just waiting for them to try it in there
  4. hey can someone tell me the best way to tell the difference between male and female angles.. my partner has a marble and a koi vail tail that have been doing lots of lip locking but both are laying eggs. cheers
  5. Ok first off i know they are an agreesive species but my question is this. my tank has 2 white convicts, 3 electric yellow 1 electric blue and one peacock. that only one of the fish (one of the electric yellows) is a female the rest are males. my dominant white convict (who i am trying to get rid of at the moment) is super agressive and spends 90% of his time chasing the other fish around (especially my other white convict). someone on my trademe auction said if i get rid of the female electric yellow the agression in the tank will stop. is this the case? how i have sexed the fish... two of the electric yellows have really black anal fins and lots of black on the top of the back fin. White convicts have both developed lumps on the forhead, both the peacock and fryier hap have coloured (i have been told the females don't colour up). Cheers
  6. i used to love that song "Kung fu fighters everywhere, throw them hands in the air, so there ain't no doubt, come on let me hear you shout, 1, 2, do the kung fu, said 3, 4, on the dance floor"

  11. Hey guys. it said whats your other hobby so i'd just throw up that i have been training in Nam Wah Pai Kung Fu for 8 years now, i'm a first degree black belt and the Invercargill club instuctor. i could be cheeky and throw up training times and all that to anyone interested but i don't know weather i'd get in trouble with the people in charge here. So i will just say i'm at the point where i'd go mad without my club. absoulutely love it!
  12. Yeah its our first.. a wee baby girl just over a week old. came in at 5lb 1
  13. I was gonna wait till i had the 200 litre set up to do pics but yeah as soon as we are on broadband speed again in a couple days time i'll take some photo's and put them up
  14. i'd really love to have a tank of just electric blues and electric yellows but getting hold of them down here is really hard..
  15. Yes its the one in the middle... the spotted one is to unique to ever get rid of i reckon
  16. 6 and 5 cms. both of them have lumps on the forehead. the bigger of the two's one is way more previlant. I've got him listed on trademe as he's super aggressive and just chases all the others around.
  17. Yes i have been told that the Fryier could kill the Peacock when they get bigger. though with no female peacocks to fight over i'm hoping its not the case
  18. Cheers Jamie. Finally found my way here :digH:
  19. Hey guys. I live down by Invercargill and am relatively new to fish. I have a 140 Litre African tank with 2 Male White Convicts, 3 Electric Yellow (two males one female i belive), One male Electric Blue, and one Male Red Nyassae Peacock. All ranging from 3 - 6 cm. In there with them i have one 8 or so cm GAE and 3 Juvie GBN. Soon they will be up graded to a 200 Litre. Never really thought to much about fish till i met the love of my life. and i haven't looked back since. fasinating creatures. Will eventually get bigger and better but with the arrival of our first born (born a week ago today) we are putting that on hold for a bit. Cheers
