  1. Well, they are gone and the tank looks so empty without them.... Someone asked for abuy now of 50 for both....she had 6 other angels to keep them company and she txtd next day to say they settled in nicely.....hopefully now they won't be as aggro with more of their own..... Thank u all for all your advice.....
  2. k will go with 20$ and see if i get any...errr...bites  thanks again for yr advice!!
  3. k then, the divider sounds the way to go...think i can dredge up something.. roger that!!! on to TM they go....no wont mention sexes, cant really, seeing as i dont really know.... chch? we're just off wilsons rd by ami - "lancaster park" for the purists!!!! EDIT: http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=504353126&ed=true i didnt know what price to put on...i started it at 20$ for 1 - ya think thats ok???
  4. yes i found a really good pic of what the tubes look like - my two dont have the same shape but its hard for me to tell how do i know when its 'spawning' time?? i dunno whether they'll last that long, lol...the male? has little pecks out of him already, i'm scared they will kill each other... I'm tending to agree with you...from the breeding tubes it looks like the orange one (who i was told was female) is the male??? If I have 2 males what would you suggest?? yes i've been told this - hence my thinking of getting rid of the 2 angels for a start, and probly the gourami too....we would love to hold on to the loaches for a wee while longer as they provide us with such awesome entertainment and a nice reprieve from the aggro angels!!! do you think i can shift one of the angels to the smaller tank while i get a listing organised for TM - i know its not ideal but i'm at a loss what to do :dunno: thanks for your help!
  5. only got my tabs camera so not the best pix, i'll upload @sophia - they are clowns EDIT : the guy i got em off reckons the orange one was a female, but from what i've read its hard to tell until they breed? having troubs posting pic from photobucket pls bear with me ahh thats better -
  6. Hi everyone, pretty much new to fish keeping...bought a full setup on TM 240l tank with 2 angels, 3 loaches and a gourami... its been nearly a month and right from the beginning the female? angel is a husband beater, lol pecking at the male, chasing him around the tank and the gourami as well. they do the 'twitching' thing at each other too. Over the last few days this has changed...the male is now the aggressor...he has claimed half the tank for himself and chases her away. They get into some real ding dongs and I'm glad I have a lid on the tank else they'd both be out on the floor... I can't take anymore, lol...they upset the whole tank and I think I will list them on TM. In the meantime I have a 32l tank and am wondering if its ok to put the female in there...I'm concerned if i put the male in there the female will spend her time chasing the gourami around - what do you guys think???.. the angels are a good 75mm in diameter its a bit hard to judge...the male is your average angel with black bars, the female is silver with orange on the top of her head - she's a lovely looking fish but i cant sit here and watch them beat each other up!! 2 of the loaches dont take alot of notice of them as they are a decent size as well, but the smaller of the three is a bit more sensitive We have decided we'd like to get some smaller fish and grow them on...not sure what type...our biggest conceris the angels... Look forward to hearing your thoughts

    Hi from CHCH

thankyou everyone for your warm welcomes!!! @Mikey...yes when it hits it hits hard, lol...on my way to get another 20l one, got one heck of an aggro angel. she was especially so last nite to her m8, he even got bits out of him now...I'm really worried...cos they all got plonked in to the tank as soon as i filled it...poor things...the loaches and gourami are happy as atm, hoping they can get thru the first month without too much grief....else i'll have to give up b4 i get started, lol, not sure i can handle the stress :nilly:
