  1. Many years ago when I had red tailed shark and fighters they were forever having a go at each other. I put them in seperate tanks , next to each other and they tried to kill each other through the glass. Cliff

  7. Yep Alan you are right I have Melanotaenia Boesemani could not read my own writing on the scrap pad. Some of those Lacustrus will look good in my tank old man when they are ready
  8. Good looking fish , great colours. Just purchased a Glossolepis Boesemani the only one they had and ordered 3 more. :roll:

  10. I agree with Rob on mbuna and utaka. I'm not going to put my head on a block about C. borleyi, I have not seen any live and photo's i've seen look differant.
  11. Caryl I don't want to nitpik but the first 3 fish are 'haps' the electric yellow is the only mbuna. For a new camera fantastic photo's Have not seen any Copadichromis or Stigmatochromis in the Bay of Plenty area. :
  12. I have one bumble bee in a tank with 5 E. yellows and 6 cobalt blue zebras,2 melanochromis johannii with very little aggro. The tank they are in is 120x50x50
  13. As money is a small problem I've got the cheepest cannester filters Viaqua and have had very little trouble with them. One or two of them the flow is not to good but i have put them on the smaller tanks. Cliff
  14. I keep Malawi , Tangs and riverine Africans .The only cichlids to keep----- at this stage.
  15. There are Labidochromis caeruleous ( electric yellow ) and there are some Haps as well The giraffe hap and Blue lumphead. Both are African cichlids and from lake Malawi

    I was sure you did. Ihave a 4ft with lion heads , jewels and kribs with the upside downs. I have 1 in a tank with malawi haps and it seems to be ok sofar .

    Yep , the upsidedowns sure go well with africans, they also come from africa.They are a river fish where as the cuckoos come from lake Tanganika.

    Thanks for the welcome . The cuckoos were around 55 to 60 dollars each and the upside down syno's were around 15 dollars

    Hi folks, joined this outfit sometime this week. I run 9 tanks with african cichlids.Got into africans about 3 years ago. Four of the tanks are display tanks the rest are breeding and growout tanks. May decide to get killies at some later date . I said maybe Alan, i need more space and tanks.
