Hey guys, Im planning on setting up my first tropical tank this week :thup: . Im going to set it up as a SE A biotope, im planning on planting it with rotala rotundifolia, crypt wendtii, hygrophila polysperma, java fern, java moss and maybe some some water sprite floating on the surface. My first question is how to go about planting, can I order all the plants and just keep them moist until they have all arrived and then plant all together or is it better fill the tank and plant them as i get them? also with testing water parameters, are test strips, drops etc better or easier and if so what are best brands to get or are other methods such as electronic more reliable. The tank itself is only 20 litres so im planning on just stocking it with a shortfin male fighter. Cheers Matt

Hey there i have a mate who is wanting to setup a tank and put a glass divider in to have two separate tanks.He wants to have cold water on one side and tropical on the other, but i told him that the warmer temp may affect the cold side and i thought i better check here and see what every one said before he made a final decision. will it work? :dunno: cheers Matt

i have a compact top but i got the wrong size, it too small for my exo terra. could just put a 2.0 in that and just balance on top?

will those bulbs be sweet in a desk lamp or something

sweet, i got the d3 powder already, im saving up so i can upgrade their terrariums and kit them out with all the proper gear, they just in temporary setups for now. what light would i need, ie flourescent, iv etc?? cheers

i dont have a light, but they get flukers powder every so often. it in quarentine on moist tissues, would a couple of grains of the rocksalt be enough. cheers

it perky, not showing signs of wanting to feed but they did have a massive meal the day before. the wound looks to be right to the bone and not bleeding or anything but frog seems to be surprisingly alert etc. its back feet were twitching a bit but looks like it has stopped now. not sure if there any antibiotics or something else i could give it but might give local vet a ring after school tomorrow and see what they say.

is there any treatments or anything, it is fine after about 24 hours after finding so guess it okish

ok so last night i checked on my baby whistlers and found one dead and another looking quite sick with a massive cut on one of its back legs right to the bone. &c:ry i dont know what has happened but any help would be great thanks.

ive heard they can have dandelions, chickweed, kale, endives etc and a bit of live food occasionally but apparently no lettuce? :dunno:

yea i suppose lol, i have also got an aviary i built a while back that i was going to put some chinese painted quail and some zebra finches into. i know i can only have 1 pair of quails but how many finch pairs can i have together?

yea i have been looking at bobwhites but not sure they neighbors would be too happy with the calling lol

ok thanks was thinking of catching babies but wasnt sure wether the parent birds would reject the rest or kill the babies or something like that.

we are going camping soon and there is always loads of families of quail with babies while we are there. anyway i was wondering if i am allowed to catch some and take them home to keep as pets. if its not i will just buy some when i find them on tm or something. cheers matt
