  1. I would suggest a non-dominate male if they are in the same tank.
  2. hmmm just looked at your website. Do you sell these air pumps yourself F15hguy?
  3. Hi all Any suggestions for an airpump for a fishroom that has 2x200l, 1x150l, 4x30l tanks. Thanks

  10. I got a breeding pair of Convicts 2 weeks ago and they have laid already. Knew they were failry easy to bred, didn't realise how easy!!

  13. I've got 2 males and 1 female. Lost 1 female maybe due to eyes to big for throat, my bad... Just looking for more so I can get the old breeding going properly. I've had a few batches hatch in the past but none survived 5 days. Not sure why...

Hi I think I have a air leak in my filter. I think I have narrowed it down to the intake pipe that fits to the canister it self. I could be wrong. It is an older type filter that I bought with a couple of tanks. Any ideas people? Thanks,
  18. Hi I have a community tank and some of the cockatudes have been breeding but no broods have survived. I was doing some reading on overseas websites and they mention that tetra's will tend to be very attractive to fry and will no doubt demolish a brood. Anyone heard of this in NZ? Thanks.
  19. I managed to get 5 out and put them in a smaller grow out tank. I can see more but they and the parents were pretty spooked so I'll leave them a day or so. This is their third spawning the other 2 I left in the tank but none have grown so presume they were gobbled at some stage.
  20. Hi all Any pointers for getting these fry out of the main tank and into a grow out tank? I've used a piece of tube as a syphon but cannot get them all. They are breeding in a community tank so lots of rocks and plants in the way to block my view. Thanks
  21. After a hectic few months, and a second spawning I now have 7 fry about 5mm long. Quite a large loss since I counted 60 odd swimmers when they first hatched. I've put the loss down to keeping them too long in the small container, before transferring them to my small tank. Busy work life has a lot to be accounted for!
  22. Righto. I missed collecting the eggs on the first batch as they hatched, so I might have a few growing in the darkness of the main tank. However, the second laying and I managed to collect about half of them and they have hatched! On a quick count there are 40-50 swimmers! They are in a small plastic container in the main tank at the moment, and will look to move them to the smaller tank over the weekend.
