They breed in my big tank and 3 babies still alive. unfortunately I lost the parent fish....

Hi all I would like to join a few pieces of driftwood together. They are quite small pieces so I can really use stainless steel screws. I knew some people use Superglue or Aron alpha AA glue( even used to attached plants to wood or stone), I think it should work for me. However I am not sure if it is really safe for use it fish tank? Others suggested silicon sealant . Has anyone come across this before? Thanks Terry

Hi everone...it has been a long time :-) I have a 350L planted tank with 8 discus fish and a few other small fish in. I am thinking of adding a few dwarf cichlids in. I am thinking of Blue ram or Kribs. I have kept blue rams before and they get on well with the discus. Since Kribs are easy to keep and breed, I would like to give it a go. Would the Kribs get on well with discus fish and blue ram? My pH is about 5.5-6.5 generally. Many thanks

Check out trademe, you should see one at $1500 tank+stand, this should be the 2 light tube model like mine. Hff have the 4 light tube model at a higher price, around $1800i think. For me, 2x54w is more than enough....

Ah...I have got some spare eheim bio max, maybe I will try to replace some plastic rings with it. I think they give you 2 layers of plastic rings might be because of they want to lower the cost. Not sure what type of anubias that is, got it from animate 4 years ago with only 4 leaf on

Finally move into the new home so can continue my fish keeping :-) My goal is to make my fish tank as part of the decoration at home, that was the main reason I have chosen Rio 300, it is nice looking and fit in with other furnitures. The main equipments are ： Juwel Roi 300 Tank + stand include 2x54w lights Eheim Pro 3 - 600 filter Eheim 300w heater 1x 3 w air pump Decoration： Black background Cedar fine gravel Driftwood Anubias Fish Discus x 6 Cadinal tetra x 20, GBA x3, blue ram x4, Jullie Cory x 2, guppy x 2 Rio 300 Tank + Stand, easy installation I really dont like internal filter so I took it out and use the Eheim Pro 3 instead Lights Clean driftwood wash gravel, I filter out the extra fine parts. This type of gravel has got lots of dust...so it took a lot of time to wash it,, Backgroud Put gravel in Tie the plant on drift wood using fishing line Eheim pro 3 - 600 filter includes all media, for tank up to 600L, max flow1250L/hr,16w, very very quite Media Physical media Boi + Physical Bio - media Now the most important part -cycling the filter. I used a 'fast' way coz I was in a hurry to move in. I put some boi noodles from my small temporary tank into the new filter so the bacteria is in the new filter straight away First day, still cloudy 2 days later, water is clear, tested for NH3 and NO2, put in some small fish Keep testing the water for a week, no NH3, NO2, and pH is dropping nicely Now putting in discus fish full view Julie Cory GBA Main fish - Discus They even bread in the tank but the fry is hard to survive. I bought 6 fish and it turn out to have 2 pairs end

Hi guys Just wondering where do you buy your water storage barrel? There are a few on trademe but they all pretty much used for chemical sotrage before....so a bit risky to use... Thanks :-)

Prob due to the metabolical waste and boilogical filtration I guess....I have never managed to get my pH above 6.5, even I do weekly 1/2 water change with tab water, it still sits around 6.0, since I have got Amazon fish so it does not matter too much.. Maybe try tab water? it is usually pH 7.2..

For the stand then, if I get them to make one similar to the standard ones in the fish shop it should be OK? Does it need any special design as they will be holding 300-400 kg....

I havent used a timber hood before. I am just a bit worry about the timber will get wet all the time, so would it deform or mould or anything?

Thanks. Does the custom contact you if you need to pay tax? Another thing I guess is the warranty, it might need to be shipped back to Gemany for repair if I buy it from a German website, while I could just take it back to HFF is I get it here...
