Hey guys it's that time of year.
Central fish keepers are having our annual tank crawl this sunday.
Sorry for the late notice but if anyone in the Palmerston North area would like to show off their tanks or any one anywhere would like to take part in the crawl please let me know ASAP before tuesday night as I will be planningthe event then, and if we get enough people in I will try organise a dinner or BBQ at maybe breakers or somewhere else if anyone is open to suggestions.
Please text me if you want to attend, show tanks, how many of you there will be and your address is nessisary.
Regards James

Hey everyone we are meeting this sunday, 1pm at Highbury Whanau Centre, Palmerston North. Look forward to seeing you all there.
-
yea thats what I'm hoping for lol
-
I think I have an onset Minecraft addiction

If one was to trat the tank to kill the snails and then put the fish back in would the traces left be enough to kill native shrimp?
-
yea they'll do that. in the past I have found them under my stand. I'd bee4n away for a few weeks and some were still alive but the others were well off.
-
tank water. Just so if she is dead she doesn't foul up your tank but if she is alive and just playing dead she has water to live in =p it'll be ovious if she is dead as she will receed far back into her shell and will start to smell real bad lol.
I have a spare girl if you want to replace her. Shell is worn but she's a very happy snail. your for free if you want
-
I have had snails "play dead" for a week. pop her in a container with a lid and see what happens
-
I would give her a few more weeks. I have never seen that in mine. Could be the pH? what has she been eating? I put a cucumber or algea pellet in my tanks every now and then just for the snails
-
I think in tropical tanks their life span is somewhere round 3yrs (don't quote me on that)
How long has she been in the new tank? Mine usually look a bit sad for the first week or so.
If she is moving round with out any of her "felelers" out it may be that the Siamese fighter has fancied her self a taste and the snail has decieded she likes to keep them lol. Happens a lot with some fish.
By not to flash are you talking about behavior? shell? the flesh or colour of the snail? do you have anything else in the tank? and how big is she. My girl is about 6cm and I think 2yrs ish

Thats really cool. I like all the effort that can be seen in the filtration and what not
-
the tank it's self, is it easier/cheaper than a normal glass aquarium?
first I have herd of it being done in NZ
-
Just move the filter last. I have never had mine running inbetween tanksand never had any problems, been off for about 6 hours atleast

with the measurements of the tank in the spreadsheet I don't understand the x and y components. what do I put in them?
-
None of those games got anu thing on Halo =p
I play mostly Audiosurf and have played team fortress once or twice on STEAM
-
sounds like it could be the cories. I don't know anything about breeding loaches. Is it after water changes?
-
something like that. I can't find the youtube vid but It was giving the air an alturnative route. so you may need a slightly larger pipe/ more than one airline tube sticking out the top and bottom. I can't remember exactly though but if you have some lying round it is worth a try
