Hi guys the waikato club is having a tank crawl this sunday and a bbq to finish it off at the end of the day , anybody is welcome to come, we will be starting at the commerce club in hamilton at 10 am (197 collingwood st). Weather should be fine just let me know if you are coming so that we can cater to accordingly. Should be a great day we are also making a stop at pure aquatics( what use to be the goldfish bowl) and checking out their new store.

I would recommend the pond pumps, my grandads got one running around 20 tanks all with sponge filters so should do you fine

I have a school of 80 harliquins they school well in the upper water but only if its clear otherwise they stay scattered. But make sure you keep an eye out for any hanging away from the rest, they are usually sick or injuried.

Isnt the point of posting so that others can see what you have to say, and if they cant understand you then why post at all.

The canisters could be useful for additional mechanical, but also mean extra cleaning. If I were going for a sump on a tank that size I'd want it to be the sole method of filtration, I'm looking at a glass filter (looks like a pool filter but filled with recycled glass media) which runs as a closed loop, does mechanical and biological and can be backwashed in a matter of minutes, which drains your tank for a water change at the same time as cleaning the filter. $500US + the pump seems pretty good, only downside is it weighs ~100lbs so shipping may be a killer!
That sounds promising, if shipping is under 500 id get it, cause thats basically the price of 2 of those canisters

Ok, thanks , how often, i was told milk powder but now that has killed them al ill try the fish flake idea, would spirilena flake be better than normal flake?
