  1. Yes Catfishdude - he is for sale - was still there Sunday when I went in and I must admit I am warming to it - still too big for me mind you. :D

Hey Caryl - thanks for posting the pic - looks very much like the one at redwoods - although I do recall a few more spots and fewer stripes.

Picking up a breedign tank tomorrow so I'll have another gander. :)

  2. Those emerald cory's are BEAUTIFUL - is it just the camera flash that brings out the colour like that? I have seen plenty in shops but they look very plain when compared to yours.

    Thanks for sharing :D

  3. Not really my cup of tea - a bit big for my tanks but just thought I'd alert those who may be interested that there's an RKF at Redwood's - around 10 inches long. I understand these are a rarity in NZ...

    :D

  4. In an attempt to bring the conversation back to a more realistic size (for those those enjoying little boxes made of breakable stuff) - I own 8 sparkling pygmy gourami - are these the smallest???? :-?

  5. Wow - to have a dad like yours! That stand it just awesome 8)

When I went into this thread, only the first two pix came up - the other 3 were Ira's red-X-tetras - BUT I discovered that right clicking and selecting "open picture" or "show picture" (foggy rememberer tonight as always), the others download too.

Must agree - the golden barbs are lovely - as is the emerald cory(?) in with them.

  6. Hi Mollyman - welcome!! If you yell out g'day as you pass through the South Island one of us is bound to hear you!

Love the sites - nice also to have them in a familiar set-up. I'm looking at another tank and discus are headed to the top of the list so great to see some of the pix as can get only a limited idea from the odd shop here. Was eagerly awaiting the download of your guppy/peppermint b/n tank as we have been hearing alot about peppermints at this end recently but they do not seem to be around in NZ - shame I couldn't see any - camera shy?

Sorry no advice on the prepaid internet thing for you but if you do get hooked up - pop into chat around 9.00 pm and a few of us will be there.

    Enjoy your "home-coming"

    :P

  7. So I'll count myself lucky that my tank came with an eheim - not out of guarantee yet so I'll stay quiet on performance until then - in my experience most electrical appliances seem to have an in built breakdown mechanism timed to go off the day after the guarantee runs out.

Pies - your site is just tanfastic - full of the WOW factor IMHO - I just loved the facial expression (do they really have them?) on the first bicolour blennie picture. He looks like he needs a hug. A first time viewing for me on many of your fish - what an awesome line up.

  8. What Caryl also forgot to say was that the Marlborough Club has a fair few out of district members (Ashburton to Auckland if memory serves me well) and some of us even managed to make the annual tank crawl last month. Well worth the effort

  9. After having goldfish in a 25 litre tank for almost 10 years, I progressed to a few tropicals and heater a year ago. Got a 3' tank at new year and then it hit me BIG time!

Actually I blame you guys - I was fine until I found this site! Madness loves company :P

A friend bought a tank for her husband for his birthday and as they are due to move two days after his birthday, I am cycling and hiding the tank in my lounge for her. Three weeks ago I was looking for the space to put it, but now it's about time to surrender the tank to its rightful owner I'm wondering what to do with the space in my lounge...hey I know - I can get another tank...more fish...more water changes...less TV...more fun...oh no - here it comes again :-? :x:o  :P:wink:
