  1. Ye it's Mincie's business. He sells a few insects and stuff as well. He knows what he is doing but pm him anyway.
  2. Your right, I have to admit, our cat brings in quite a few birds and has a habit of leaving them with innards hanging out right on our doorstep and I'm the one who has to scoop the stuff up
  3. True that, ah well. I'm not siding with MAF at all but I can understand kinda why they restrict imporation of animals. I mean, look what the possum, ferret, weasel, stoat, ship rat has done to our wildlife. They're just trying to prevent that happening I suppose. However, I reckon that most people on this site are very capable of successfully holding an exotic animal in captivity without causing nationwide disasters.
  4. Ye thats true. Basically, if you aren't sure about the legality of an animal that you buy in NZ, either check the legality before hand or take the risk and buy it but don't publicise it.
  5. Ye, I am also looking for some whistlers if there are enough to go around.
  6. He had possession of whites tree frogs and sold or attempted to sell some on a certain auction site. MAF prosecuted him for the illegal importaton of the frogs. However, they were introduced into NZ and they have been seen in a petshop but like 20 years ago. I did see him post in the private trade & excgange recently wanting 4 male albino gloden bell frogs. But as to where he is atm... I have no idea.
  7. yes, I agree, they need more height than ground area, so your 30x30x45 will be good for this. I'm trying to achieve this in mine but not sure how it will turn out. We will see.
  8. ah well I'm gunna be moving to the states in a few years or so anyway . Also, another thing, why can we not keep native geckos inside if we supply the right heat, light and habitat?? I had a look on their website and they said outdoor cages only. Any reasons?? :-?
  9. Just browsing through this topic . Here's my idea 8) . First of all, does it cost to apply for a health standard? If not musch or not at all, I say we get all that are interested in LG's in this forum, maybe 50 or so, and we mass apply for a health standard . As individuals we will fall, however, united we stand and supply LG's to all!!!  (cheesy I know )
  10. Check condition of the water, too cold, too hot, too acidic. I read that it can have a potentially bad effect on the frogs/animals even if the water is in better condition than to start with. I personally use rainwater that I store in a barrel and leave it for 30 to 60 mins to bring to room temperature. But hey, try whatever works
  11. Ye thats what I have heard as well. Although I've known of a few people to really enjoy keeping chameleons and I have to admit, they would be awesome to watch, feed and to keep as long as the keeper has decent knowledge about them.
  12. Love it bro, keep it up . I myself am in the process of creating a 45 x 45 x 60 exo terra for some whistlers but it would be nowhere as good as yours . I will try post a few pics when I am finished.
  13. Its a brilliant method of training. An urban art. It really looks stunning when done properly. If there is anyone in Palmy or near Palmy that want to give it a go, hit me up and I'll give details of our training seshs Reptiles/amphibians and parkour are a good combination . Somehow my work doesn't come into that category hmmm.... :-? :-?
  14. I must say very nice frogs . Especially those golden bells phoenix, they look great . Those are albinos aren't they reptilenutt?
  15. Hey guys, just curious to see what people would prefer between a golden bell frog and a whistling/brown tree frog. I don't really take a side but am just interested to see what other people think. Post comments and pictures of your frogs and tanks.
  16. Does anyone keep fish/reptiles/amphibans and freerun also. If so, hit me up and we can have a mean chat
  17. haha nice , you got me lol  . However, forgive me as I didn't know the topic was this bashed to death. I'm a forum nooby and probly just dug myself into a deep, dark hole
  18. Hey everyone, I've noticed that there are a few discussions to do with imports and the various restrictions and stuff. SOOOOOO.......I've made this topic as a dumping place for all ideas, speculations and thoughts on the importation/exportation of animals, native wildlife permits and so on. I'll start: I'm annoyed that I cant import like real awesome frogs and stuff like poison darts, red eyes and whites tree frog if they've actually been confiscated  I would love to have a red eye or two, they are the coolest things
  19. What about locusts, can I feed them to my frog or are they too big?
  20. Can someone please give me ideas on how to breed crickets? I need to know to feed my golden bell. I have a little idea but need to know size of cage, size of incubators, temperature, where abouts in the house to keep them and that sort of thing. Also, if there are other insects better for frogs, let me know as I have been currently feeding him house flies.

    Hi everyone

Wats up guys, I'm a big frog fan and have had a bit of a look at the frog topics and stuff and everyone seems to know what they're doing. I'm currently designing a 45x45x60 paludarium for future golden bell frogs. I will try to make it really realistic but I am fairly new to this so it 's kind of a trial and error thing atm.
  22. Hey everyone, I'm in the process of designing a golden bell frog terrarium/paludarium and I need to know whether the frogs need a heat and/or UV source. Also if anyone has any ideas on the substrates and the substrate drainage (and any other set up requirements), please give me thoughts and ideas. Cheers
