  1. srry alan just got ur pm.

Do not spawn on mops i find it useless and gives way less numbers.I spawn mine in peat 4 7 days and then squeeze the peat till damp and store for 14 days.I hav hatched some aswell at 6 weeks and were fine.Store at 24-28 for me but could go at 21-23 i get even sex ratios maybe a slightly more males.

  6. Hi

That auction has quite a bit of false info.Firstly they get 13cm.He says just add pots too breed NO!!these guys are really hard to breed in captivity. The smaller panaque sp tend to be hard to breed.Need wood in their diet and alot of patience is needed.Need a lot of cyclops to condition the female. But they are a cool species.A better plec would be a peckoltia sp or hypancistrus sp if you are wanting to breed.

  7. Alan M the gld australe i believe have pretty good bloodlines as i know quite a few nzka members refresh there stock via petworld in chch. You say ur male is from South AFrica then ma be wild caught as the killifish association over there is very poor but fish farming is very big in Natal especially Kwazulu Natal.Good luck with the fry. They should be ready to spawn at 2 months if not within if fed properly.

    cheers Kyle

  8. Ok sorry alanmin i thought you didnt have space for them anywhere else so yea it is best kept seperate.Alan that strain you are talking about is a really nice strain Look anything like this?http://www.killies.com/gallaustralegold.htm.Well both alans give me a shout if you ever need chocs as i have a lot.I am still spawning the gold for you alan minery and have seen them spawn heaps so should give u more than 10 so sorry about that.

    Cheers Kyle

  9. Alan he got them both from me.I have hatched out 120 +fry of choc australe from my pair and havnt got one different so i doubt he will aswell.Mixing is fine as long as u can tell the ifference now one should be a lot more golden.I think He has 10 golds and 12 choc or something??

  10. Yes i reckon you could. You could have 2 notho species 1 would have to be guentheri gold and maybe one of the other 3 sp we have as all the of these females look the same. You could also have gardneri gold, blue and albino easly told apart. Both australes choc and gold easly told apart and sjo's.The only thing is that sjo's will eat everything aprt frm the gardneri. If you wanted a tank with nice colour you could have a few pairs of Aphyosemions eg bitaeniatum, australe and maybe a gardneri sp but they can be aggressive. So yes you can have a tank mixed with killies just got to choose the rite ones.

    cheers Kyle

  11. Ok since i have started a war here  i will tell yo what i have been told to do by an electrician. He said i must put a rcd or something like that which will then trip the connection if any water does get to it.This sounds quite good but wondering how much am i going to pay for one of these??

    cheers Kyle
