  1. Photo update.

I have 7 blue rams. Got 4 in January and 3 more a month ago.

All are doing really well and forming pairs.

This is one of my pairs and my 6 year old Bristlenose Spud who wanted to get in on the photo op lol

Please excuse any blurriness, little suckers are busy fish!

  2. Severums love to eat plants and JD's (thought I saw one in your photo) love to dig.

Your best bet plant wise is Amazon Swords, java fern and anubias. The severum does not like the taste of these.

Get large specimens if you can as they will handle a slight beating until they get established.

FYI ambulia is a stem plant and far too fragile for your cichlids.

    Good luck!

  3. I am getting my aqua one 380 tank back from a family member as they have lost interest. Although this was totally expected.

I'll have no stand so was going to sit it on the kitchen bench as there's heaps of space.

Should I put poly underneath? I'm thinking it might help with vibrations from the bench.

    Thoughts please.

    Cheers.

  4. I have used Dalton's aquatic mix in a couple of planted tanks now with fine gravel and have had great success with plants.

I think one thing with using sand with Dalton's that hobbyists have found is that if you have digging fish they stir up the mix and make a mess.

Dalton's also lasts at least 2 years possibly 3.

  5. Looks great David :)

Do like that sand. Does it look as dirty as white? I got disgusted with being unable to keep sand clean that I removed it from all my tanks ages ago.

Are Altifrons available in stores at all?

David what kind of angels are those?

  6. Are the khuli loach and zodiac loach compatible?

I have searched the web and found nothing.

Hoping to move 1 zodiac loach into a 4ft with 6 khulis. My khulis are actively about even with the light on so dont want that to stop.

    Anyone kept them together successfully?

    Cheers :)

  7. Weird dattofish that carpet wasn't covered under house insurance - it's definitely a fixture (unless it's like a mat, rather than real carpet). If a plumbed dishwasher counts as a fixture (unless otherwise specified), then carpet definitely does.

My understanding is that carpet is a fixture but I can see the insurance company being able to back out of the claim seeing as the carpet was not "fixed".

    Dishwashers are a chattel.

Linda the 620T I bought had extra silicone added to the back edges. Perhaps this helps strengthen it?

I will have to move at least 2 4 foot tanks soon perhaps even 3 if one doesn't sell. Not looking forward to it :-?

  8. Sorry to hear of your problems Linda.

I know the 620T I bought secondhand had been resealled. The 850 also secondhand was fine and was older and not been resealled.

If you are really worried you could have it checked out.

Moving any tank while on its stand is not good I'm told.

    Good luck! :)
