  1. Perhaps you have something similar to "Marys Problem" posted at: http://www.aquariumfish.net/information/marys_problem.htm#top2 In essence: Gravel was not suitable for aquarium, had some arsenic in it, arsenic slowly dissolved out, and built up in fish, killing them. Something else off the site which may be of interest is... Hope this helps somewhat!
  2. Oh of course... I'd forgotten about the heavy metals and the rest of it. Thanks everyone for your quick responses!

  4. Hi all you fishy types! Got a quicky question here... We have two 10 litre plastic water containers. They're the type you could buy from the supermarket - fully water sealed etc. We've got a couple books that say tap water should be aged for three days. Sounds good to me, but does it matter if it's aged in one of these sealed containers? We cycle them, so each one is stored for about 5 days before it's used. So the question is - for the water to be effectively 'aged', is it okay if it's sealed during that time? Thanks in advance!
  5. Hiya Mark, thanks for the welcome! *bows* The one and only! :-P
  6. Hi everyone, I'm the aforementioned husband. Eureka! Just wanted to say heys to everyone and figured this would be the most appropriate thread.
