  1. actually boiling is only to make it to be extract, if it is not dear in NZ, i would just chuck a few leaves in my tanks. but to get the most of them, i choose to boil, and its up to people, i use a piece of poly board jus a corner, for my fish to build bubble nest. as most of things, you do not know it, untill you try it.
  2. low your fry tank water level. they will be fine, and you may have one or two die, but the majorty of the fries will survilve, and they will be ok when they grow a bit bigger. personally, i do not recon DECAP ones, hard to clean the fry tank. good luck!
  3. MELAFIX is really good for wound, anf damaged fins. but they are not cheap.
  4. and its really good for Dephnia too. you will get both if you have Dephnia culture.
  5. you will, and the numbers of fries in a batch is not great, and servival rate is really low. or color goes pale.
  6. dog bone from supermarket work really will for me , keep my water green and my Daphnia love them. yeap, you are right, the thunder storm keep my tanks full. but The pools is not a good place to work, good for patrons. lol.

sponge filter will do half of the job, rest of the shell will float on top and stick together, you just scoop them out. .
  11. bbs is only good for certain stages, MW, personaly i think is just wast of time. it doesnt work for me. from the 2.5 years experience of breeding fighters, i realize that one person's work cannt do all, its the team effort, you need to get as many great sources as you can. and focus on quality rather than quantity. there are a lot of great breeders in NZ, surely, they have awesome fish as well, (maybe my Canno camera is the best so far lol). anyway, there is a lot of fun from keeping fighters, make friends with breeders, understand fighters(truely, you need to understand what they think....), imporving blood lines etc. anyway, good luck mate. all the best! let's work together to maitain the quality and establish our own ID in the world.
  12. thanks Adriene, you are right, yours and mine are brother and sisters, from Jo. lol. yes, they are 5cm in 9weeks. the food i am feeding them are free, moskitolovi (if i spell right lol) just have a wast tank outside, full of everything. lol.
  13. we need more dedicated master breeders like Ron, Adriene, and Rhys.... in our community to fancy the lovely species these breeders are amazing!! for them all.
  14. some say size does not matter, but some say size does matter. they are only 9weeks old, and fighters' lifespan is max two years. they are only 5cm a.t.m.t
