  2. cool.No more water changes with the lights on then. Coralline was just starting in my tank and this has gone and set it back.Blah :-?
  3. I did a 40 ltr water change on Monday and after i took the water out i did a bit of cleaning, nanos some smaller rock etc so the water level was about 10-15 cm lower for about 20 minutes.the next day i noticed my coralline starting to bleach and progressively over the next 5 days got worse to the stage where large chunks are completly white.Areas that don't have direct light and Coraline up higher seem unaffected while middle to lower coralline is worst hit.my alk,ca and mag etc are all on the good high side so was wondering if the extra light the coralline received when the water was low has done this.only my 4 24watt actinics were on not my 2 150 MHs.Any thoughts Last saturday today

    bristleworms

that size wont cause any harm but they will grow fast.I think it is only the fire bristleworms that will eat your corals. 8)

  9. Hi guys. Am looking at setting up a reef tank soon.Have done a lot of research on the net and in various books and mags and think i now have a fair understanding of how things work.We have a limited marine base here in hamilton.Just a few shops that sell afew fish and corals etc althoe world of water is setting up shop here next month which will be good.I was woundering if other stores in auckland will sell live rock to me or will i have to start of with the dry rock.was also woundering if there is much trading of corals between reefers.Hope to have things up and running soon so i can start enjoying the ups(and occasional downs)that come with the terratory.cheers
