You may find, unless you have a "premier" insurance policy that they will not pay for the damage. We found this out after a 250L broke and flooded the lounge, dining and kitchen areas. They only covered damage done from normal house water supplies like pipes bursting or tap problems. They did pay for the tank itself though
geeze hate to think which insurance co your with!!

yeah shampoo the carpet,
hire a rug doctor from your local supermarket shoud do it!
if not jaes services do wonderfull cleaning jobs on carpet, if they cant get the smell out, ring your insurance co and get them to replace the carpet (lets hope it doesnt come to that!)

:bounce: Well im new here so i thought i would introduce myself!
James, im 23. live in the good 'ol garden city of chch,
Started off with just a Rekord 60 (Dim. 61cm x 31cm x 36cm) with far to many fish in it now (as both my partner and i have gone fish crazy)
Our Local would have to be Redwood Aquatics on Hussy road, absolutly awsome store with many many fishies, and so im told a new shipment on 1st april (!!!) then next on the list being Organism Ltd @ Ilam Rd another great store. both of witch are making a killing out of us at the moment!
Started with the good old 54ltr tank, and have just purchased yesterday, our new baby, (well not a small) a 310ltr tank
Will keep everyone updated and will have to post some pics at somestage!

Does anyone have any Advice on these guys
We have some Guppies, Neons, Gouramis and angels, in a wee 57 ltr Tank, we have just moved house and all the fish seem to be doing really well, (apart from our 1 casualty a sword tail)
we are getting set up at the moment a 300 ltr tank, and plan to move the bigger fish into the larger tank asap, i bought a air pump and stone the other day but couldnt wait to set it up, so i hooked it up to the smaller tank,
normally the Loaches are quite happy swimming around and chasing eachother playing merrily, tho the same day that i put the air line in, they both hid, and became very somber. i really dont wanna loose these wee guys because they are my fav's
any advice?
also does anyone know how to tell male and female apart?
Temp is aprox 24-25 nitrate 0 and nitire 0 ammonia is at .2 but decreasing with water changes (assuming tis up because of the new water after the move
