-
Thanksa again adodge, I think the courier might have taken their time with it as whenit arrived the val was all dead except one small plant

For anyone who is Breeding in CHCH.
I would like to put a order in for 5 young
-
Ok, so i never got round to adding those pics
I now have the camera(crap one) and photobuckets working.
So, i have been going through all the different types of algae,
Brown first, then BGA, then Hair algae, now i have BBA on the glass.
I finally got some swords in there (marbled and Osiris). And a few other bits and pieces.
Fishwise i have:
2 Hybrid Starlight BN
2 Sterbai ,2 albino ,5Bronze and 5 Peppered corys
2 whiptails
5 Neon tetras
2 cardinal tetras
2 Platy(and 20ish fry)
and 2 Male molly
If i can catch them the neons and platys will come out of this tank, i really dont like having heaps of platy babys in here  .
So still got a few fish to go in:
10 pencilfish
5 Dwarf flags
5 Albino BN
And a couple Female molly when i can find some.
and if theres any guppies left in the tank thats getting emptied, they will go in too.
I've also added a 600lph internal to go with the 1200lph canister.
And a nutrafin Co2 set, dont know if it will do much though.
And FINALLY a crappy picture
The tape is holding the second filter there untill i get the suctioncaps from the filter in the tank im taking down tomorrow
And the heater will go at the back with the other one too.
Have also got to plant a few more of the plants that are floating atm, and scoop out the duckweed
-
Thats great! seems like you have nice guppies!!
Yea its important to do water changes with fry as they are not as resistant to polluted water.
I had a similar problem with my guppies, as the ammonia killed a few (alot) of my guppies.
Well, your fry seem pretty brave, I hardly see my fry, but you get one come out for food now and then.
No fish are resistant to Ammonia, If ammoina keeps coming back, your filters not cycled, and if theres no filter you should be doing a waterchange or 2 a day

As far as i know they arent here.
The ones i know we have:
Guppy
Mollys
Platys
Swordtails
Leopard fish- Phalloceros Caudimaculatus.
Gambusia Affinis - Mosquitofish- Ilegal, noxious pest.
And every now and then we get halfbeaks

I have one small (60ish litre) coldwater fishtank with the three goldfish (I've had about 10 goldfish over the years. I once put a bit of seaweed in the tank, when I was much younger...) there as the permanent residents, and a small koura and brown trout (...) since this Tuesday. I would have placed a few bullies in there as I had before, but they nip goldfish.
You will find that the trout isnt native, and im pretty sure you arent allowed to take them?
And Welcome!

are there any plecos in the tank with mouths that size?
-
I icecream container floating in the tank will do for now
-
Clown plecs?
-
So, im trying to find out for someone else if there is any discus breeders in Napier?
PM me if you breed them, or know of a good breeder.
Cheers
-
they live longer and healthier with some salt however can go without it. however they are far mor successful with it.
that is why alot of the mollies you see in stores look unhealthy and swim strange...
The swimming strange part is mainly in balloon mollies ime
-
Its a Golden Black-eyed Ancistrus
aka Golden Bristlenose
aka L144
Its a Gold version of the bristlenose plecs with black eyes

If you get it a Mate, they will start to be way too aggressive to the discus
-
Mine have alway only gotten to about 7-8cm, But i saw MarkLB's ones and they were quite a bit bigger i think.
-
Is this the tank the discus are going in?
