I've only had this choc knife 1 week, but it hasn't bothered any of my fish that I've seen. I have some emerald eye rasboras in the same tank and they're not exactly large fish. Will be interesting to see how it goes long term though once it is fully grown.
Cool, so they're around the same size as ember tetras i think and thats the smallest i have in the tank that i want a choc knife it

Can't say I've seen those around. Typically not what I'd consider for a community tank, but they look interesting.
They seem to be great community fish
Also, whats the temperment of your chocolate knife? Do you think he would eat small fish? Is he the one from organism a while back?
-
Cool. Where did you get them from? Panduros look awesome.
Are you hoping to get a breeding pair out of the 10?
I got them from a breeder down here.
There is one big male, the father of the rest of them i think.
And one pair is looking comfortable in a a tunnel

what are they?
Budgies

Arowanas :bounce:

The wood would affect the ph if there was heaps of it but a couple 10cm(ish) pieces hidden in the rocks shouldnt change it should it?
-
Good idea P44
-
I dunno... Ive heard of people keeping them in african tanks with no wood. As long as he eats his algae tablets, that I drop in at night (hikari, and tetramin) he should be alright, as I think the hikari ones have wood in them.
Nah, just put a few small pieces of wood behind the rocks
-
Wont last long without wood in there
Will it?

i have heard they will eat all plants and keeping them well fed doesnt stop them from eating your plants
-
Yep, animal antics has the nanacaras in stock.
Send me some!

Well i no longer have the borelli/steel blue or whatever they were, now have 10 panduro
-
All of those fish would do ok in that tank, none of them should eat the plants, The kribensis or Bolivians may want a bigger as they get older, they get a bit bigger than the rest.
And i dont know what most people do for sex ratio but when i had blue rams, the male would pair up with one female and the other would just get bullied and that was in a 120L tank.

I might even buy more and keep them

I have slight success!
I got the 2 skinny ones eating crushed snail
Then they get chased off by the fattish one, so tomorrow im isolating the notskinny one and feeding the other 2 heaps

They were being kept with Monos, bumblebee gobys and Plecos and they were nipping fins of the other fish

Il have a go at getting them to eat again yesterday once they've settled in to their new tank, then if i have no success i might have to try it?
Il try them on the crushed snail and small daphnia tomorrow, apparently the daphnia have crunchy shells

..found 2 fry in the internal filter
About 1.5cm so probably about 10-14 days old?
I think its the biweekly cold waterchanges from the taps that did it.
I havent had any fry from them in over a year![:o](https://aquariumworld.nz/forums/uploads/emoticons/ohmy.png)
