  1. Thanks for the thoughts. :) Really frustrating when they go so quickly.

Haven't lost anything for ages so will be stressing over the next short while in case theres something in the tank :-? :o

  2. Hi Ryan. Was eating and behaving ok last night. Ive put him in a seperate holding tank but its starting to look grim!! He seems to be strugling to keep his balance. Ive propped him up so he stays upright and given a dose of Melafix. I don't really know what else to do.

  3. I have a large male (15cm) Compressercep that I have had for a couple of weeks now in a large Malawi community tank. Hes not acting as he usually would. Hes sitting on the bottom and is very passive and quiet (can put the net in and scoop him up). All other fish are fine. These is no visible damage or injuries.

Any suggestions on what I can do for him?

  5. Hi Bulldog. Go for it. You shouldn't encounter any problems. Malawis are hardy fish. Ive been known to do 100% water changes (fish caught and put in buckets) with no evident effect to the fish. Not sure about the temperature change though as Ive always filled my tanks with water around the 26 degrees mark.

  6. Just to give you guys a little bit more info. The tank is 8ft x 3ft x 2ft. I was thinking of putting 2 sumps into it and pluming 1/2 the tank to one sump and the other 1/2 to the other sump as it could be a little difficult getting a 3-4 foot tank into the stand. This would also give me a bit of a saftey factor if I ever had a pump failure. Does this make sense??? :-?

  7. Yeah. I have a concrete floor so that aint a prob. The tanks getting a new lid so its hole drilling time. Decisions, decisions :-? Once its in place it aint going to be going anywhere so I wanna to get it right first time. Ive already got 4 new 1200lph filters but that isnt a problem. If I dont use them on this tank I can always get 4 more tanks  (Don't tell my wife!!!)

  8. Hi guys. In the process of setting up my tank (1400+ litres) but unsure what way to go in regard to filtration. :-? Some of my Malawis and my 6 pack of Fronts are going to be the new occupants and are getting impaitent. :D Would be keen on any feedback as to whether I should go for a sump or external filters. Thanks for any sugestions that you may have.

  9. Hi Mekhaela. sounds like your tanks are like a baby factory at present. Which variant of Aulonocara jacobfreibergi do you have. Ive got a couple of males and females as well however Im waiting for clarifiaction on species. They look very similar to the "Undu Reef" variant.

Would be interested in your thoughts

  10. Hi Afrikan. Luv must have been ib the air that night cause Ive just seen a large group of baby Lionheads in my tank as well. :D Mum and Dad were being a bit naughty though and having a wee munch on the odd one :x so it was all hands to the deck as I stripped the tank to save the wee fellas. 52 luckylittle guys :D
