i was reading in a book that for disease organisms that have a free-swimming stage, souch as gill and sikn flukes, marin velvet or white spot disease, the use of a diatom filter can prove to be helpful, especially in a reef aquarium. this is because at the free swimming stages the disease can be filtered out of the water. what dose everyone think of that i have a diatom filter so it should work shouldent it saves using harmfull chemicals

the clown hasent got it dont no what was up with the damsel so what do i use to get the whit spot out will the diatom filter work iv got one of thows and no it gets rid if it in a fresh water tank

the damisel tryed to be the boss and stresed him self out silly fish

hey all about a week ago my damsel had white spot because of the marroon clow whel he got ova it but got it again then gave it to the black capes so today they all died so its just the marroon clown so my question is what are good fish that will go with her shes quite big going up to auckland on sunday with the fish club so have to spend some money

thanks eveyone hes clearing up the thing that is stressing him is the marroon clown he tryes to bet her up and she just tells him where to go so hes doing it to him self because he was the first fish he still tryes to be the boss but the clown is a lot bigger thanks againg

no coral and the salinity is in the middel of the green thing dont no how to read it hehe

My Domino Damsel has got white spot hes gone very white and is hiding away but will still come out to eat, what can i use to get rid of it, I have in the tank with it 2 black caps and a marroon clown please help only had the tank a copple of months the damsel was the first fish

it could be cursed i had a tank that what ever i put in ther died then tryed beeding my discus whouch would breed find just wouldent eavent go near each other until i moved them then they were fine so i put it down to the tank so now its gone and all good its good to know someone els had the same things as me

hey all my 150lL tank has been set up since september and all is going good. So i have 5 fishes one clown one bi blenny one one Domino Damsel and 2 blacked caped damsels I havent got any proper lighting yet will do soon so no corals All the fish are happy i got the clon and blenny off afrikan they sold there set up so a big thanks to them when it was first set up whole tank with the lovely brown alge my sump that took a lot of editting

hey all just a few questions, When my tanks ready for the fish and corals, how many can i add at a time i think i know i have to wait for the fish but not shure how long and is it the same with adding corals

the old guy that looks after the tanks he was realy good and told me heaps of things

i got told that the ribbon ees kill the corals when they swim over them and wrap them selfs around them this was at rotorua

hey just wondering how many people out ther have just fish tanks no corals or just a small amount. thinking about doing this as i realy love eels but they just kill the corals

thanks for all your help about the test kits i allready had all of them because i have fresh water tanks also i olny brought the ammonia because it ran out so how do u test the salinity and what is a refractometer i no that tests it but how i will be toping up with tap water as so dose most other people in hamiltion i no that i have asked do and our water is realy good here so what tests shoud i be running on that to test it

I was just wondering this might be a silly question but what tests do u need to do, and what are they all for. I know about the ammonia, and a little about the nitrite and nitrate, but want to no what they do and what others to use. Maby if ther is a good link some where out ther it would help a lot thanks or just everyones 2cents will be good thaks

thanks heaps ill just leave it. Its not like iv got much money to spend on fish at the moment anyway but i did gets ome little clear shrimp things for free today so ill see how they go
