It is possible, however they didn't spend much time around him or in his territory. I only saw them all together very rarely, and when they were they weren't flaring up at each other.

Hi there, I have had my dads pride and joy male betta (Bill) in our community tank for about 3months now. A couple weeks ago we introduced two fighter females to the community with no issues. Day before yesterday he was fine, last night we found him dead behind the bubble wall (one of his favourite spots). I have been keeping up with regular water changes, and whatnot. Any ideas why he might have gone belly up? Lava.
