Hi, There is a good recipe on the below site for making your own salt buffer for African Cichlids. I have used it and tested the water chemistry with a pH and Hardness testing kit and it looks good. All the ingredients are cheap and you can buy them from a supermarket. You can buy Cichlid salts from a pet shop but they are expensive. http://www.cichlid-forum.com/articles/buffer_recipe.php

Hi, You can buy Seachem Flourish on Trademe: http://www.trademe.co.nz/Home-living/Pe ... 678948.htm I use Aquamaster - its cheaper and works well. The main ingredient in all of them is Iron plus some trace elements

Hi, The bulb I have is a Hagen Aqua-Glo 18" (43.74cm). All the shops I have looked at have 15 watt bulbs in this length. On overseas sites I have seen bulbs marked as VHO (Very High Output) which are higher wattage but have not seen any locally.

Hi, I have a tank with a light hood that takes a 1 standard 18" T8 15Watt bub. I am trying to find a bulb with a higher wattage but can not find one. Does one exist or is 15 watt the standard for an 18" tube? Are there any easy work arounds?
