Hello Robert, Yes you can buy them from a pet store. But, I bought mine on line ona place was WWW.THATPETPLACE.COM, or you can goto www.E-BAY.com. Either way tat would be a whole lot cheaper than the pet stores. Trust me I saved at least $75.00 buying it online... Hope this could help. Hello all, Just stepped in and saw you all bashing each other about the parot fish is this the blood parot cichlid? If it is like I think I have 3 and I'm sorry if it offends anyone I didn't know when I bought them I didn't have the internet. But I can't really kill them so I just treat them like a "real" fish. The things can get very teritorial like a cichlid like it's name says. & if people own them they should know how to take care of them. Plus I did see the ugly@$$ balloon mollies that should never have happened. I never saw the balloon guramies though , but , I bet they are just as ugly. Anyway I'm not here to ruffle anyone's feathers, (oh yeah this is the wrong room for that bad pun :roll: )

A guy at my LFS says that if you look at them & they have green dots in there bellies they are female (I guess this only works if they are pregnant). :-? Unsure if it's true , but seems believable.... Anyway , hope I could help. Steve X.

To all of you at the fish room, I'm sorry for the CAPS. I am always getting' people to tell me to stop shouting. Thanks for the greetings this is probablly the best forum I have ever been to. there seems to lots of people here with the same interests as me. I really like the DIY sections I am always building something. Now let me tell you about my set-ups. I have a 75 gal. community tank, (I use a Fluval 403 right now, but, I am putting a 404 on it soon.), w/ 2 bala's, 2 ID sharks, 2 opel gorami's, 2 pictus cats, 1 lace catfish, 3 blood parrots, 1 tiger pleco, 1 common pleco, 2 otto cats, the list goes on. Anyway I also have a 100 gal. in the process of been set-up. I just built a nice stand for it, & getting ready to build a hood. (& maybe a background hence the reason I posted the background post) Some of the fish I mentioned are going to live in the 100 gal. tank. I built a really nice stand for my 75 gal. & now everyone wants one. my girlfriend wants me to build an entertainment center & all kinds of things. HELLO ALL, I HAVE BEEN THINKING OF MAKING A BACKGROUND FOR MY 75 & 100 GAL. TANKS. BUT, I DONT UNDERSTAND WHERE TO PUT MY HEATER & INTAKE TUBE. NOR DO I UNDERSTAND HOW EVERYONE THINKS THEY WILL KEEP WATER FROM GETTING BEHIND THE BACK GROUND (WHICH SEEMS LIKE IT IS IMPOSSIBLE). PLUS I'M NOT SURE ON IF I SHOULD USE EPOXY PAINT OR POLYURATHANE OVER IT. ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED. THANXS IN ADVANCE, STEVE X. (AKA: AQUAMAN) P.S.
