I've recently stumbled onto this forum and just love it. I've drooled over the photo's of fish - especially the guppies and the tanks. I've kept tropical fish for about 8 years but due to a terrible leak I lost my fish and filter over a year ago and only just managed to get a new setup. Not very interesting at the moment. I'm just sitting watching the water running through the filter. I love natural looking tanks with lots of plants. Guppies are my favourite and I've been known to watch a female for hours waiting for them to give birth. I just about fainted when I went looking for plants at the local store - $16 for one java fern. Guess I'm just going to have to wait a while before my tank looks well planted.

Thanks. I noticed there were quite a few from the Wellington. Its going to be great to chat with other enthusiasts and pick their brains when I need advise.

Hi and welcome. I suggest you join a local fish club. They are a great source of cheap (free) fish and plants to buy or swap.

Welcome aboard Michelle

I too have spent hours watching a female,

in fact three of them give birth.

My darling and now our two daughters.

Oh by the way, I have watched the livebearing female fish also.

Several breeds of them in fact.
