Some of my vallisneria has an algae which I have never seen before, its like hair and it feels like hair and when you pull it out its very strong, eg its sorta hard to break?

What is it and how do I get rid of it?

    Sounds like hair/thread algae, i treated it with flourish excel in my tank. Ppl often recommend a double dose but i found a single dose worked. Algae turns pink after a couple of days and disappears completely in around a week
