geckomatt
Hey everyone, I have a 20 Gallon tank with two bubba convict cichlids (3-4cm) and a baby pleco (7cm) which I will be moving into bigger tanks when they are bigger. But for now, will it be ok for me too put an apple snail or two in here? Cheers
LYNDYLOO
Hi geckomatt, I cant see a problem with putting 1-2 Apple Snails in the tank along with your Fish, as you say you will be transferring them into a different tank when they are bigger anyway. Pawz
i have found that even the baby convicts nipped at the tennis ball sized apple snails.
geckomatt
That's what I was worried about... Shall I just see how it goes? I am getting them from my LFS and I'm fairly certain they will take them back. I don't know
LYNDYLOO
Hmmmm,   Apple Snails do have hard shells Now are baby Convicts nipping at the Apple Snails Shell, really going to cause it any harm ???? :-? :-? :-? I'm not sure about the answer too that question, so maybe someone else might like to answer that. Lynda

Pawz
my patner had set up a dedicated tank to them. hes had them for 4ish months now and had never breed before. It was only once they had their own tank that they breed. they love to eat all your plants and ours get a daily feed of lettuce
geckomatt
Ok thanks. I will try it and see. It would be cool to breed them, these are about the size of a 20 cent piece, so I think they are too small?
