lduncan
The lack of sand hasn't killed the corals yet.

lduncan
I know at least six of those different ones pictured above are floating around NZ. I personally have at least five of them.

chimera
that last pic is a fake. look closer at it i got the monti 6 down - tan colour with bluish/purple highlights (not as intense as this pic though) but still quite pretty

reef
i dont have a new camera oh , another trade me set up.
chimera
who says i bought it for myself and whats it your business anyway? "another trademe setup" - thats particularly amusing coming from yourself reef - lost count of the bids you've put on your mates sales. and its quite interesting the people's trademe accounts you seem to be monitoring... wasp
Chill Dude Why is the last pic a fake? You've really dissapointed me there I was thinking it was the kind of tank I dream about. For some reason I can never get all my montis looking good at the same time, there will always be at least one that does not have the correct colour. I was thinking this guy has ALL his montis looking good! Anyway, what's the give away that it's fake?
reef
I wonder if anyone has a bright green monti cap in the last pic. Could be using t5s as that can give you false colours
wasp
I've seen one NEARLY as good in Barrys tank, although yes, the one in the pic is probably enhanced. Barry gave me a piece of his one, I rush home with high hopes put it in my tank, within a week or two it goes brown .
lduncan
I had one which went pretty bright under 10k's. The nudibranch's ate it, but there are a few other people around ChCh with it, i've never seen it the same colour in other people's tanks though. It was a weird coral because most of it was a vibrant green, but there was one swirl in it which was brown, and never changed colour. chimera
Anyway, what's the give away that it's fake? coz anything that has colour looks super imposed

wasp
coz anything that has colour looks super imposed Yes sadly you are probably correct. Reef told me a good way to figure these things out, check against the colour of any fish, see how real they are. However in that particular pic there is not much fish available. Bet it's still a pretty awesome tank though!
reef
i think the pic looks normal for t5s. looks like a lots of blue t5s. whos tank is it Layton?. would be nice to find out what he uses for lighting.

OK well there could be some useful info there. was there anything different about the brown bit, ie shade, flow, or whatever?

Ignasi Torralba he's from Barcelona: http://www.webdummies.org/www/reefdesig ... index.html Looks real to me, maybe a little photoshop, but the corals are definitely in the tank, and they are probably close to that vibrant.
