Fay
Has anyone out there got Arcadia 3 series lights that take 250w bulbs if so what brand bulbs are you running please. Last year I used bulbs other than Arcadia and they keep going out and had to spend $1000 on Arcadia brand bulbs. Has anyone else had this problem please help

tel
ive got the arcadia 3, 2x250w. still new so they are the arcadia 'brand' lamps. i would have thought $200-300 per lamp. me thinks me might price them up mine are 14k and seem very white compared to others ive seen, would prefer something a little more blue.. suphew
$250's a crazy price for bulbs, have you shopped round, tried lighting stores instead of LFS? Normally they wont have them in stock but if you take in an old bulb they can often track them down. But if it was me I would buy the 400w ballist pies is selling and one of jetskisteve reflectors, new 400w bulb, and it would still cost you less than 2X$250, then if you sell the A3 you'll proberly end up making money! PC100
I have the Arcadia 3 Series 3x 250 and I have used all sorts... Hamilton, BLV, Coralvue, Arcadia, Aquaconnect. I have no problems whatsoever with any except the Arcadias are too yellowish for my liking (14000 k).

puttputt
Yep. Thanks PC100, that what I wanted to know as well. The original bulbs have been good for the corals but aren't blue enough for my liking either, seems to be a common thought. What did you settle with PC.
