neill
Do I need to do anything special when treating my bristlenoses for whitespot. Am intending on going for a formalin treatment to be kinder to my plants. Any advise would be great as I find my BNs dont handle chemicals very well. sharn
i would suggest a half dose of meds as they are 'scaleless' unless cat experts can advise on meds that are BN friendly. that 'white spot cure' by Wunder is supposed to be quite good. formalin will ruin your filters too, not sure if the 5% stuff will (what strength is yours?) but apparently its too weak to do much in the way of getting rid of bugs im told. also upping the temp will help (probably dont do that with formalin unless your ultra increase airation) as it will speed up the white spots life cycle. hope they get better! ryanjury
I have treated white spot on my tanks twice in the last few months and ive had bristlenoses in them everytime, I used the blue circle whit spot cure and found it worked well. When the white spot was very minor it was gone after the first few days of treatment but I always redose on the 3rd day to ensure its well and truly gone.. Ive always used a full dose on my tanks and haven't ever lost a fish let alone a bristlenose, im unsure if thast whats recommended but its what ive always done and had no problems.. Good luck!
