Faran
Hey Fingol, The long stringy algae will probably be a direct result of too much phosphate in the water supply. I recommend a double dose of Flourish Excel and don't foresee a problem with the fish that you have being affected. This will kill off the algae but not fix the phosphate problem. Fingol
Thanks for the answers! How do guppy fry fare in a double doze of Flourish Exel?
sharn
i wouldnt imagine too well considering blue had his discus go funky (it was your discus aye blue) when he double dosed. i think he wrote something in the plant section about it. if you were to double dose i would probably take your fish out just to be sure
Faran
discus and a syno cat (still not sure about the syno) were the only ones affected. I had pretty much all the other fish she had listed in the tank(s) and they didn't have any issues. Should just keep an eye on the fish for a few hours after dosing and do a 50% water change if there's problems. Same as any other treatment. Good looking out, sharn
smcoleman
Initial dose use 1 capful (5mls) for every 40 litres of tank water thereafter use 1 capful (5) for every 100 litres of tank water daily or every second day results may take antwhere from 2 weeks to 3 months depending on the amount of alge growth you should start to notice in the "BlackBeard " algae within 2-4 weeks it should change to a reddish brownish colour this means the treatmrnt is working well if your fish show signs of distress perform a 50% water change immediately i got these directions from hollywood fish farm an it worked well in my tank hope this helps guys
