buzzy
do you have to add top off water, or can you use seawater everytime? eg if the tank gets lots of evaporation can i use saltwater if i drain water out of the tank ( say 10% ) and replace it back to where th water level would normally sit, or would the salt levels rise too much? chimera
there is no difference to emptying MORE water out and replacing with saltwater again. you MUST topup with freshwater and freshwater ONLY. otherwise salinity will go through the roof. you should also test the source of the saltwater prior and after adding it to the tank. for eg: NSW generally has a higher salinity so you should replace water you take out at water change time with replacement saltwater AND freshwater. makes RODI become more crucial. jetskisteve
thats a common error for newcomers, nobody explains that the daily evaporation MUST be replaced with freshwater
