puttputt
2 days........ and he just scoffed a huge piece of nori and has a fat tummie. Not a mark on him, clear colours, solid looking and stroppy. Comes right up to the glass and flicks his tail at me. Quality indeed but early times..... Pies
Touch wood you mean? He looks to be fine. A very health specimin, which is often the secret of success. Starting off with a healthy non-dieased animal is a great start. Fay - Did you buy one? I can't remember. Pie

puttputt
well mine is eating like a pig, fat and seemingly healthy BUT i,ve noticed just today some white spot on him. Whats the best course of action - I am not in a position to set up seperate tanks for medicating him. Should I get a cleaner shrimp??, or try feeding him anything different? any help would be appreciated.
Fay
I use fresh crushed garlic and mix it in the food my big ABT got white spot and it has never got any worse and no other fish has caught it. I never miss giving it to him daily and I will keep it up until he clears up altogether.
cookie extreme
I never miss giving it to him daily and I will keep it up until he clears up altogether. why does it come back? if everything is healthy.
Drifty
my brother uses garlic every day. also started using the miracle mud garlic extract and salifert stop parisites. Seems to be working though which is good
Fay
why does it come back? if everything is healthy. I have had him for 2 1/2months and he hasn't shaken it yet it just stay the same. You tell me and then we will both know ( itch magnet )
wasp
One reefer who doesn't post here has had a PB for more than a year, it's never fully shaken the white spot. No other fish in his tank have it they must all be immune. I suspect the PB may have difficulty acquiring an immunity like other fish. He doesn't use any treatment, but for somebody wanting to assist their PB, a little garlic, Salifert SP, or whatever seems to work, may lighten the load for it. Fay
One reefer who doesn't post here has had a PB for more than a year, it's never fully shaken the white spot. bugger I hope this doesn't apply to my ABT who has no scales either, I was hoping to kick it with the garlic but after 2 months maybe he's stuck with it. I will carry on with the garlic I'm sure it helps him and wait and see yes wasp I think my other fish are immune.

puttputt
I looked at him this morning and he looks clear as a bell, no sign of the 3 or 4 spots I saw yesterday. I think a couple of cleaner shrimps in the tank would be a good idea. Thanks for everyones input.

puttputt
Thanks fay, I took my girls down to Port Waikato a couple of weeks ago to collect some fossils by the cliffs on the beach, lovely spot, first time I've been there. Knew you were around somewhere, and Jetski has now told me about where your shop is so next time I'll pop in to see your tank.
