Tanksman
Any clear silicone should be allright to do the top braces on your tank so it's an added bonus it's safe for aquariums. I heard a good idea recently where someone silcones a marble (or something like that) to the middle of the removable glass lids. This makes getting them on and off easier. I have broken to many lids  Next time I'm playing with silicone might give it a go.
Faran
My 460L tank came with 2 huge wall hooks as handles on it to make moving the 100cmx15cm glass plate around easier... works like a charm. Everyone that sees it gives a "why didn't I think of that" remark, which I think is quite funny. And yes, they're just held on with the regular sticky stuff that comes with the stick-on wall hooks. Not that 3M wall-safe stuff, either. Sure beats marbles!
antwan
when i got my lids redone on my tank the guy just drilled a hole straight through the middle of it, so i just have to stick my finger through it and pull it off, good place to drop flake through as well

Caryl
Hold onto your pride until you've checked the bracing holds after the tank has been filled with water

Not so. Don't use Neutral cure anywhere on fishtanks. It must be Acetic cure. Caryl said: Hold onto your pride until you've checked the bracing holds after the tank has been filled with water Make sure that you give it a week to cure otherwise you may pop the centre brace which could result in a broken front or back and a resultant flood wherever you have it set up.
