boatmaster
Im just starting a malawi tank and am finding alot of websites stateing not to feed worms of any type ( incudeing blood worms) to them as they will cause major digestive problums that will lead to death. have any of you had any experince with this problum? i under stand that if one feeds only worms or to many worms it may cause problums but no worms at all? thanks ben

boatmaster
thats one of the many problums that worms can apparntly cause. its weard some websites say to feed as many worms etc as posible and others say feed none. then there are the sites that support vaired diet includeing worms in modertaion(sounds the most plausable and logical)is for other fish anyway. Newtman
my cichlids get garden worms ocasionally, they dont seem to suffer any ill effects that i can see... get blood worm a fair bit so i dont see a problem there, unless they are gulping air at the surface when they take food, that could cause bloat could it not? im not sure what bloat is exactly, air in the gut aye?... if your realy worried about feeding them worm, then dont,if not...give them a small amount and see how they go. herefishiefishie
im not sure what bloat is exactly, air in the gut aye?... I don't think anyone can answer that question 100%. I have cut open a few cichlids, that have succombed to bloat, I am a believer of Pathogen theory.
