Fay
I moved a soft skin brain coral up 200mm from low light it was under direct light, I have burnt it bad it was a lovely coral I have had for years and now the middle has died off. Does anyone know if they can grow back over the damage?
craig
sorry to hear that fay i don't know if it will come back or not, but it is definitely worth giving it a go. why did ya move it? was it not doing well where it was? just lkeep a close eye on it. that sort of thing happens in the wild, when they get freaky tides, some coral's end up high and dry till the tide turns. good-luck shell. cookie extreme
don't give up on it! i have a scolymia (green) that my regal angel really liked. he ate the whole mouth piece out of the poor coral and then started on the fleshy lobes!! i thought oh well will die so i left it for a while but it didn't. i then moved the coral out to the garage into my 40 liter tank. the tank has no heater or skimmer just a small powerhead, some natural sunlight and 3 hours max a day of 150watt 14000k arcadia. it regenerated its mouth piece within 4 weeks and now all the damaged lobes that had some algae on it have healed. the whole coral looks just like new. and now i have the problem what to do with it. place it back in the reef and hope my angel ignores it, keep it in the garage or sell. bummer. :-?
