raeh1
I couldn't beleive it I was looking at my design fault in my overflow (waste food sinking to the bottom) about five minutes ago then I saw flicking movements. I was like it must be pods so I looked to see how many were in there. and then one about 6-7mm long swam past.. It was a shrimp so I looked harder and saw 20-30 of various sizes. I am going to see if they will grow on. very cool ahh They must grow fast as the tank has only been going a month..

Pies
Hate to break the news to you but they arn't baby cleaner shrimp, they are mysiss/myssidd shrimp, very common, they don't require any special care just food to eat. When cleaner shrimp release their clutch they are about the size of baby brine shrimp with a life expectancy of about the same. Pie

raeh1
man I though I was onto a winner. you know 30 cleaner shrimp @$20 each would have been nice. At least they are something else cool that I have never noticed before. It just co-insided with my cleaner shrimps eggs... Pies why do the baby cleaner shrimp die so quickly??? chimera
Pies why do the baby cleaner shrimp die so quickly??? probably because they either taste good or there is no food fine enough to satisfy them
Pies
Or skimmed or lack of food, or cooked by lights. The baby cleaner shrimp released will be treated by the tank the same as if you feed baby brine shrimp. They will be consumed. You add say 10,000 baby shrimp to the tank in one big feed, how many have survived to adulthood for any of us, a big fat 0 for me. Shame is right, i'd take some shrimp for $20ea Pie
Feelers
Does anyone have a phytoplankton reactor? Anyone know of any good designs floating around? I saw someone culturing rotifers from phytoplankton in a RC totm. I would love to try and raise clearner shrimp at some stage.
