Caper
I use plastic containers for my water. I usually refill after I do a water change and lately that is also when I add my dechlorinator/chloramine. Could refilling the same containers all the time be a bad thing? What about letting it sit for a week (occasionaly 2)?
suphew
Can see why it would be a problem. I have had the odd container go green if I left water in the bottom and in the sun, I would just make sure you pour most of the water out between changes. By the way if you have containers why are you using dechlorinator? you can just leave the water in them for a day or two and the chlorine will be gone, an air bubbler helps keep the water moving. Caper
Thanks suphew! I'm using tap water and the water here has chloramine in it as well. I just wanted to be sure that leaving it sit in the plastic containers for a week or 2 at a time would be ok. Thanks again
suphew
Will only be ok to keep the water for a couple of weeks if you have an air stone or pump in there with it. otherwise the water might go stagnent, also keep it out of sun light if your containers are clear. Caper
otherwise the water might go stagnent That's what I was wondering Suphew if leaving the water sit for a week or two could result in it being stagnent. The containers do have caps on them, if that makes a difference? I think I'll just do a refill the day before, that should be ok don't you think? I just want the water to be room temp before adding to the tanks. Thanks
Caryl
It will not go stagnant over a week or 2 Caper.
