Kookie
My baby platy is at least 5mm long now and fit and healthy. The other fish are BW Tetra's, danio's, golden and cherry barbs, swordtails, EE Rasbora's, platy's, a guppy, neon &glowlight tetra's, couple catfish. Is my bubba big enough, or will the others still try to make a meal out of him?
Tanksman
I'd say its still food - especially for the danios, barbs and catfish. Best to leave til 15mm IMHO

LYNDYLOO
Hi Kookie, I too would say it's a little early to be putting him in the tank yet, don't want ya other fishies to be making a meal out of him, maybe look at your biggest fishies mouth, when you think your platy will be tooo big to fit in his mouth, then it's probably safe to put him in the same tank as ya other fishies. Good Luck Lynda
Kookie
Thanks guys. I bought a floating breeding trap today and put him in that. Would hate to see him minced up after I've raised him from birth LOL.
Tanksman
He shouldn't be alone for too long - Keep your eyes peeled - If you notice a big fat momma hanging trying to keep out of the way of everyone grab her too and stick her in the breeding net - You-ll probably have half a dozen the next morning - If she's a good girl and doesn't decide to have em all for breakfast before you see them. Its a bit of a risk tho! Kookie
LOL I'm too late for the latest lot. She dropped em a couple nights ago. Couldn't find any by the next morning. The trap has a divider, so the bubba's will go to the bottom part and mamma won't be able to fit through.
