Devon
I got told that because some of our cichlidsare breeding bred and bred time after time with each other taht half of them are infertile and is rare to get a good true breeding pair

Conaquavict
Are the severums a2 nice peaceful fish?Am looking for something a different shape for my tank. They are not very aggressive as cichlids go, and would make a nice addition in any suitable tank that dosn't have aggressive fish , or fish small enough to fit in their mouths. The severums max out at around 8-9"
GeeTee
Thought they grew a bit big. Will have to wait for a bigger tank.
GeeTee
What would be the minimum size tank for Severums?
Conaquavict
Minimum recommended tank size for a pair of full grown severums is 45 gallons. you could add a few dither fish as well if you are trying to get a pair to bond, this seems to work for some reason. GeeTee
I have a 30 gal tank at the moment,I could get some small ones and then tell the wife I need more room for them when they grow. Another opportunity to get another tank.
