rossco
Soon its going to be summer and after the shower or two we've had the flys will be a buzzing. What (if any) fly sprays/dispensers it is safe to use in the same general house area as the SW tank? Are the pyrethrum based ones safe? :-? wasp
No, not if you get any in the tank. Pyrethroids are toxic to fish.
rossco
Hmmmm... fishies...tank top often open...hot lights...buzzy flies...buzzy wife...fly spray...breeze...fish swimming upside down...very buzzy Ross! This SW fish stuff gets trickier by the day. Gonna have to get rid of one of the factors above...
PENEJANE
you could try using that professional stuff that you can get. The add is on tv where the wife hires the pest controlers and spray the outside of the house and eventually the husband does it himself. I can't remember the brand name but if you were to spray the door frames and window frames (outside of course) then that might be enough to keep flys at bay. Its worth a try Cheers

petplanet
We use a pestrol spray can in the kitchen for the last two years. Tank was in the lounge. Use the repallent can not the kill can. If you are worried run heaps of carbon.
