Right.

At the moment i have:

Tank about- 90L (or 20g)

Filter I have a corner filter and an Undergravel filter.

My problem is i don't like this setup as i have bubbles coming up everywhere and alot of room in the tank is taken up by the corner filter (im also a little annoyed by all the cords/tubes going into the tank).

I want to take at least that corner filter out of there.

I was thinking this:

Jebo 508 Waterfall Style External Bio-Filter

If i got this would i be able to lose my undergravel filter as well?

My goal is to have a community tank with PLENTY of plants.

Any suggestions welcome except ones that will cost me in excess of about $70! :D

I have two tanks set up primarily for plant. They have sand substrate and are heavily planted with established plants. Each has a small electrical sponge filter which gets cleaned about every 4 months. I have lots of fish and excess mulm gets removed about every 3 months. The plants help with the nitrogen cycle and the filters do also, but in addition they circulate the water to avoid the temperature layering that occurs without it. One tank is completely enclosed in a cabinet so has a small airator, the other does not.

Yep dump the UGF, your plants will do far better, have a look into adding something under your gravel, clay is a good choice. This gives the plants nutients etc and save you having to add it to the water where algae can use it.

PLants dont like having strong flows of water over their roots plus they will cause dead spots in the UGF which can cause problems.
