Sharkey
I'm going nuts I have tried so hard to get my clowns into a BT but they wont go. I know its ok (The BT)because I had one in there before(Untill the last clown made a jump for it  ) Its driving me nuts!! I also lost my mandarin it was getting so fat and looked so good  I'm sure the bubble tip ate it. If only the clowns had been in there . They have paired up and like to hang by the glass and keep it clean. Do I need a smooth rock near the BT? Help im at my wits end. Im seriously thinking of trading them all in and getting another Mandarin.
wasp
What type of clowns are they Sharkey? If they are true or false percula, BTA is not their natural host so it will take longer. I had mine for 6 months and they just did not figure it out. But they had a little corner they always hung out in. So, eventually I moved the anemone to them, right into their corner. Can you believe it they were scared of it & would not go too close. But they stayed in the area and after a few days it happened. I think I actually saw the moment. The clowns were just doing their thing, when one of them got quite close to the anemone, and brushed it. Suddenly, you could actually see something go "ding" in the clown, it suddenly got REAL interested in the anemone. Did not go in straight away but looking at it, mouthing it, etc. Took maybe 1/2 hour till it worked it's way right into it. Then it got real defensive and kept chasing the other one away. But after another few days the other one moved in too. I still think if I did not put the anemone where they hung out it may never have happened. Another idea I read on RC, a guy designed a screen that he could put in the tank, blocking off a very small area around the anemone. He just had the anemone and the clowns in this very small area, and it worked the clowns moved into the anemone within a day or so because there just was not much else they could do. raeh1
My clowns decided hair algae was their host. So I did as above a couple of months ago and they moved into a tourch coral.. Now I have another anemone I will do the same trick, when I have some time off to monitor the progress... Although the clowns are now fast losing interest in the coral... maybe they already sense the anemone.
Fay
Can't recall having any problems like that, I have just chucked the clowns in and herded them with a net to the anemone. They probably thought my god not the net I will hide in here.
