What lighting configuration

For the lighting, it really depends on what u will be keeping in future. If you intend to keep SPS in future, 250watts is a better choice so u wont keep on upgrading.

Futhermore, if you uses 250watts, for future upgrade to 400watts, u can still u the reflectors and just change the ballast only.

if you just wanna keep LPS, 150watts will do.....

i think that is a generalisation nowadays. i have seen some bloody good colouration in sps tanks on 150's (cookie's, jetski's etc). after making the transition from 250's to 150's myself I've seen a faster rate of improvement in the colouration of my sps than with 250's. obviously the 250's are more powerful - the improvement is due to better reflectors and halides being much closer to the water surface. a good quality/design of reflector, a good spread of light and a good mix of kelvin in the bulbs can make a huge difference imo.
