Aqua
Hey guys, If my turtle tank withstands a week or so of being filled to the top, I'm going to use it as an aquarium, and I'd like to hear opinions on getting sufficient water-flow throughout the aquarium as I don't want to have any dead spots! Being a turtle-tank, it's got the ledge that divides top from botton at one end... Ideas?
livebearer_breeder
Fluval 204, spray bar, on egde of tank above Turtles Ramp. Internal Filter, something like 600LPH, underneath Turtle Ramp. Shae
Luke*
You can cut the ramp off....easy just get a sharp knift and run along the edge on the top and on the bottom. Have done it on a two foot tank no worries.
Aqua
Yeah the ramp won't be a problem but I have the sneaking suspicion that the ledge is helping hold the tank together!!!
alanmin4304
You could maybe use the ledge for some bog plants. You want a filter that picks up water at one end and puts it back at the other, which probably means a remote external
Bluetom
what are the dimensions of the tank? and glass thickness?
Aqua
what are the dimensions of the tank? and glass thickness? It's 4' x 2' x 2' and it's 6mm glass You could maybe use the ledge for some bog plants Yeah I considered that... What would work well though? I suppose some plants that'll droop into the water would be best, and then I could make it brackish and get archer fish!! :bounce:
alanmin4304
Most of the plants sold are realy bog plants. Anything other than a true aquatic should do OK.
