madmax
Hi there, I am a Newbie form Hong Kong wondering which HOB skimmer can operate a good performance. I was looking on Deltec MCE 600 and Aqua Medic Turboflotor 1000 Multi. If any ideas please help to sort out. Thx
reef
Can’t go wrong with the Deltec hang on, Cost more but works well and hangs well on a tank They are a bit noisy but you can do a few things to reduce the noise. The Deltec is much more compact and you cant see the pump like the aquamedic. All reviews on the Deltec say they are good. The aquamedic would be a nice budget skimmer. The Deltec pulls in much more air so it will skim far better. I am the Deltec agent so many might see my post as biased.
madmax
I just wondering is the deltc HOB skimmer with a "3-pin plug" in the pump?

jetskisteve
ask Wasp he has one of each?
wasp
The turbo 1000 and deltec 600 are both good skimmers, thanks to their needlewheel technology. I also have an Aqua C remora pro HOB, it's OKish, but not as good as the other two. No other HOB that I know of is worth messing with, unless it's a case of can't afford the good one and anything at all is better than nothing. HelifaxNZ
I've ordered a AquaMedic Biostar Flotor on the recommendation of Jetskisteve as they are small and will fit in my sump very well. By the way Jetski, just received it today, but they sent the wrong one  They sent me just the Biostar and not the Biostar Flotor, so will have to wait longer!
