Fay
I am going to try and catch him tomorrow, but I don't know how to treat him. He has two white patches that have slowly got bigger on one side, in one of the white patches a hole has developed and you can see his flesh. Do you think it is some kind of fungus and what should I do he is swimming and eating ok but I am worried the hole will just get bigger and kill him. I have had him for a couple of years. Any ideas can't take a photo he won't keep still.
Pies
No doubt that moving him will stress him and potentially make him worse. I'd be inclined to just leave him be and let the great circle of life work out whats what. Good luck with it. Pie
wasp
Sounds bacterial to me. An extreme measure is to remove him and treat with antibiotic. However if your tank is healthy, which I'm sure it is, he should not have got this anyway, unless maybe he is getting old and prone to stuff like this? skuzza
yeh they are right i have removed sick fish before thinking it was the only way i would save them but it just increased the chance of death due to the stress and they are not that easy to catch as you would know.
