livebearer_breeder
DAMN! are you sure shes full of eggs, and not blocked up? or maybe an internal parasite. Shae
Billaney
not SURE of anything shae , i have seen her produce a few eggs while he tried to wrap himself around her , but not as many as she might be holding. Also her white little tube ( can't remember the correct name ) is protruding as if she's ready to release more eggs. She is eating and swimming normally not showing any signs of ill health apart from her size.
caserole
I have had a pair breed several times over a 2 or 3 week time frame. there was lots of floating plants for cover so I did not remove the female but I did removed the fry as they started to leave the nest. is your priority the fry or the pair ? you could remove the spawn(eggs) and see if she will breed again and again... to releave her self of her burden, of course if she gets to betten up you may have no choice. is that any help Paul? Billaney
Hi Stu The pair is my priority, they can alwys breed again as long as there alive. I did give her a very gentle massage on advice and eggs flowed very easy from her , so i've put her back in and she seems fine , her tummy was not hard like it looked but quite soft so its not as bad as i thought , i'll give them time to work things out themselves but keep a close eye on things. Thanks Stu for your help as always very much apreciated
