Caper
I was reading on the net and it suggested they be fed wafers and vegies??? What do you folks recommend? I thought I'd add....I don't feed my ottos anything, when I first bought them I did try wafers but they weren't interested. Should they be getting something in the vegie line?? My ottos are in with my goldfish and once a week they get fed peas.

Caper
I've never seen the ottos eating the peas...unless there's some "crumbs" left after the goldfish are finished, which I doubt! What about the plecos???
Faran
Hiya Caper, When you have "rasping" fish (suckers) you should feed them primarily veggies and have some driftwood in the tank for them as well. As long as the pleco is getting the veggies it needs whether by your feeding or scraping algae, it will be good. As it grows, you'll notice a larger dependance on veggies you add to the tank. I feed all my tanks with catfish of any kind pleco wafers. Your ottos will probably love them as well
Caper
Okay...just checking on Cheech and Chong (plecos)...Cheech doesn't seem to be growing the same as Chong. When they're on the glass, Chong's belly appears "fat" while Cheech's isn't. Plus, Cheech is not as dark as Chong. Any ideas? So, thought I'd through in a algae wafer...everybody else kept at it...plecos didn't have a chance. Any suggestions??
Snowman
I would try a couple or 3 wafers spread throughout the tank to give them a chance at some.
Caper
Okay...tried that...but didn't work either...one pleco went to it...but left it alone in a second...I put 3 in while the others were eating to see if that would distract them. Have to do a search here...find out about zucchini! I'm sure I've seen somewhere here about feeding plecos that??? Can I put any other kind of veggies in with them (neons, platies, mollies, guppies & plecos)????
